Low Calorie Spaghetti

There are some things you CAN re-create easily, and some not so much. Is this noodle going to taste like a pasta dish from Olive Garden? No! But to know you can enjoy the entire can for 60 calories.. It is absolutely a trade out that I am willing to make to enjoy pasta at home in the week and still have the 'real' thing in moderation!

Hearts of Palm noodles are a total HACK to being able to eat 'a lot'. I like high VOLUME foods, meaning a lot of it -- the picture below is two can's worth which my husband and I split and ate ALL of! A Heart of Palm is a vegetable from the inner core of palm trees.


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Cans Hearts of Palm Noodles

  • 3/4LB 90/10 Lean Ground Beef

  • 1/3 Jar Yo Mama's Marinara Sauce

  • Seasonings of Your Choice

  • Optional: 1/2 Onion, Chopped


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Heat/cook your ground beef (I like to use Italian Seasoning, Oregano, & Pink Sea Salt)

  2. While your meat is cooking, drain your noodles and RINSE them with water thoroughly. You can pat them dry if you would like, however when you heat them, they will dry out more than how they are in the can.

  3. Once meat is almost done, add in your onion, then your sauce.

  4. Scoop the meat sauce topping on top of the noodles or do what I did and mix the noodles into the meat sauce mixture!

Spinach or tomato would make a great add in to the sauce, too.
