Overcoming Your Fear of Failure

Girl in yellow shirt talking

As a women's personal trainer I come in contact with a lot of women who are afraid to start, in fear that they will 'fail' - just like they have so many times in the past.

The only 'failure' is when you give up on what you were going after completley. If you want it, it is okay to take breaks, detours, setbacks... that is LIFE! It is all about getting back up and back on track, to keep moving forward.

One of the biggest things I find is that many women who have not been able to stick with their healthier eating or exercise routine in the past is due to unrealistic expectations. A woman who never wakes up early, and does not enjoy it, tells herself she will get up at 5AM 5 days a week to workout - that is not sustainable if she doesn't enjoy it. A woman who does not need to do high impact exercise attends a HIIT class at her local gym which is causing her aches & pains - that is not sustainable, she does not enjoy it.

It is all about finding ways to live a healthy lifestyle that YOU enjoy by making small swaps, tweaks, and changes in your day. This is exactly what I teach in my boot camp - a stair step method.. adding a few things in at a time, before they become your new norm. It does not have to be all or nothing. It is better than you do 'some' of the work consistently than 'all' of the work occasionally.
